The Tide
The Tide is a unique redevelopment project located in the vibrant city centre of Antwerp, directly opposite the AP University College Campus Noordplaats. The project comprises 130 student rooms, 10 residential studios, a commercial ground floor, and 48 underground parking spaces. For students, The Tide offers the ideal home base: the various campuses of the University of Antwerp and AP University College are located in the immediate vicinity, along with all essential amenities in terms of culture, hospitality, and social activities. This allows students to fully enjoy everything this lively city has to offer. The growing student population in Antwerp is putting pressure on the limited supply of high-quality student housing. With this residence, MM Estate Group aims to provide an answer to this challenge. The project combines high-end private rooms with en-suite sanitary facilities and spacious shared kitchen and living areas, enabling students to enjoy both comfort and a strong sense of community. Sustainability lies at the heart of The Tide. Heating is generated in a central plant room using heat pumps and solar panels, combined with high-performance insulation and carefully selected materials. However, the concept goes beyond energy efficiency alone: significant attention is given to sustainable mobility – with a prominent role for bicycles – the use of sustainable materials, and the recovery and reuse of rainwater.
