More information about De Confiserie Blok E
As far back as 1930, the Roodthooft candy factory, with its iconic "arabierekes" signboard, was housed in the factory premises on Lange Leemstraat. The original butter factory was built in 1905 and consists of several red-brick buildings on the inner area and an ornate office and residential building on the street side. These buildings form the core of the redevelopment of the entire site.
The entire site will be a mix of office and residential units combined with greenery and open spaces. In total, Confiserie Roodthooft has 50 residential units, ranging from single-family houses with private gardens, small flats to large luxury lofts with beautiful terraces. The existing site is of course characterised by the early industrial atmosphere of the old buildings. The new elements planned around the courtyard support and reinforce this atmosphere.
This is an exceptional project combining old and new.
